‘Tis the Season for Weddings

As mentioned previously, the Dry is upon Territorians and apart from many, many parties and outdoor gatherings to attend – there is always a wedding or two to personally attend out of the hundreds of weddings happening around Darwin and the Top End.

So it is our turn tonight to attend a wedding of a friend who is from a prominent Darwin family and I understand the event will be huge.

So the dilemmas start: what to wear, what to get as a gift?  I think I have the what to wear under control, but I am still struggling as to what to get as a gift.  I love gift registers and especially for couples who have been married previously or have combined two established households etc etc.  Nothing like wasting money on a gift that will never be used, sold at a garage sale or handed over to Vinnies.

Therefore, I asked the bride outright what she wanted.  She let me know, although my contribution to her collection of Scanpans might actually buy one or perhaps three quarters of a Scanpan!

Anyway, tonight should be good fun – not sure how I will scrub up for work tomorrow – I guess I will take it easy!
