So you want some authentic Indonesian food that is also halal?

The little Indonesian ladies who cook and run Sari Rasa are a little bit of a secret in town.  They have a loyal following of locals.  Some of us have known them when they started the original Satay House – which is no more.  There are long time locals that are just discovering the place.  During the Arafura Games, locals couldn’t get in there with the hordes of atheletes from Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia clamouring to eat there.

The best chilli chicken curry, chilli bean, dried beef with potato (which is sparingly dolled out), chilli eggplant and egg – my mouth is watering as I type.

A daggy little back room down an arcade in Cavenagh Street, you are best advised to come between 12 noon and 12.30pm.  Don’t leave it much later than that or you will miss out.  Only open for lunch.  There are no frills – you are just there for the good food – kinda reminds me of the little eating houses that pop up around Malaysia, where workers go to eat at lunchtime.

Each time I take my first mouthful a serene contentment takes over my body – it really is true soul food.

Nice read, I just passed this onto a friend who was doing
some research on that. And he

just bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Therefore let me rephrase that:

Thanks for lunch!
